Register now for Year 7 2027 GAPP Testing

Box Hill High School is pleased to invite current Year 6 students to register for testing for entry into our Year 7 2027 GAPP (Gifted Academic Potential Program).

 

The GAPP program is Box Hill High School’s accelerated learning program designed for students who demonstrate high academic potential and who would benefit from additional challenge, enrichment and extension opportunities. The program supports highly capable learners through engaging and accelerated instruction, with approximately 26 students selected each year to form the Year 7 GAPP class.

 

Testing for students seeking placement in the Year 7 2027 GAPP class will take place on Saturday 29 August 2026 at Box Hill High School.

Parents/Guardians are invited to register their child via Trybooking.

 

Families of registered students will be contacted prior to the testing date with further details regarding the structure and running of the day.

 

Registration for, and participation in, the GAPP testing process is open to all interested students. The testing process is used to determine placement within the GAPP class only.

IMPORTANT ENROLMENT INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES

As Box Hill High School is not a select entry school, participation in GAPP testing, or selection for the GAPP class, does not constitute an offer of enrolment at Box Hill High School. Families should note that selection for the GAPP program and enrolment at Box Hill High School are separate processes.

 

Students seeking enrolment at Box Hill High School must separately submit a placement request for enrolment, which is assessed in accordance with the Victorian Department of Education Placement Policy.

Our school currently has an enrolment restriction under section 2.2.16 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic).

 

Approved entry criteria for our school for the 2027 school year are:

  • students who live within the school zone (guaranteed entry)

  • students with a sibling attending the school at the same time (priority 1 of the priority order of placement)

  • students seeking enrolment on compassionate grounds, in exceptional circumstances

  • All students seeking enrolment at our school must meet one of the above criteria to be eligible for enrolment in 2027.
