The year so far.....
Term 3 has been all systems go as the Year 12 Media and Artmaking & Exhibiting classes are working intensely on their folios and final artworks. The final pieces will be a key feature of the Art Factory exhibition in term 4. Artmaking & Exhibiting also had their last excursion to Heide to view the exhibition Hairpieces - it was a perfect day for viewing some amazing art from sculptures to paintings, they also learnt some historical aspects of the artist community that was formed in the original homestead.
I would like to offer a very warm welcome to Kim Noble who has joined us in Food Technology. I was lucky enough to visit her Year 9 & 10 cooking classes and enjoyed a few samples of butter chicken that the students had cooked in the lesson. The atmosphere was amazing from the smell of the meal through to the focus of the students. Keep up the amazing food! Mrs Noble I will need that recipe!!
Wood Technology has been buzzing along with some amazing and highly innovative pieces being created, Danny and the Arts Team have also been hard at work making props and sets for the production of Grease which has been evolving over the term. Students have gained greater insights into how to build and construct props from industrial materials and also upcycling objects that have been donated and objects that have been in storage from previous productions. A massive thankyou to Danny Zemp and all the students involved - you have gone above and beyond to make the performance of Grease come together. The creativity and perseverance has been inspiring! Looking forward to the opening night.
The “Art Factory” is still going strong on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch times. Come and the join in the creative adventures.
