A note from the Principal
Hello, everyone.
I hope you enjoy this edition of ‘Healesville High Connections’. As with all previous editions, ‘Connections’ is filled with the exciting achievements of our students. This time we recognise the Semester 1 award winners, following the awards ceremony held on August 13. Congratulations to each of the students whose efforts were acknowledged at that assembly. Their enthusiasm, talent, and willingness to be involved in all aspects of school life has been evident throughout 2024.
A special congratulations also to this week’s stars, the recipients of Manager and Principal awards – Brianna, Poppy, Ella K, Joshua, Hannah, Ella D, Cael, Lyndsay, Chelsea, Jadah, Celeste and Grace.
Thank you to each of the contributors to this edition (and there are so many of them) who have provided entertaining and informative insights into the recent life of the school. I greatly enjoyed reading the reports of classroom endeavour and achievement, sporting prowess, excursions, musical triumphs and more. It is remarkable to consider how much can be achieved in a school term and it is pleasing that students are eager and willing to take advantage of all the opportunities on offer. Thanks as always to our staff members who make such opportunities possible. The extra time and effort contributed by staff members can often go unnoticed, but it shouldn’t. Thank you to all staff members for your dedication, and your desire to give all students opportunities such as those described in this edition.
A special mention to our Year 7 speedway racer, Axel Robinson. The short article written about him gave a wonderful insight into his achievements in an area unfamiliar to most of us. Congratulations Axel!
I’ll finish by urging each of you to consider attending one of the performances planned for this year’s production of Grease. As is always the case with Healesville HS productions, this show will be entertaining, fun, and should not be missed. Congratulations in anticipation to each of the students involved, whether on-stage or back-of-house, and a huge thank you to Daniel Glenn and his team of staff members who have already dedicated countless hours to this show. Students and staff love what they are doing but performers need an audience - please attend and support our students and staff. There are still a few tickets left for the Thursday and Saturday evening shows but the show on Friday evening is almost sold out.
Grab a ticket for Thursday or Saturday. You’ll have a great time!
Best wishes everyone.
