Guest Speakers

On Wednesday 24th of July, the Speak & Share ‘People Before Students’ program came to Healesville High School to talk all things mental health and encourage a positive school culture. Their key message was around increasing meaningful connections and normalising the conversations around mental health in a safe, judgement free and inclusive way to promote happy and healthy students. The hope is that this leads to a healthier and happier school community that doesn't shy away from mental health conversations. The program was delivered to Year 8, 9 and 10 students.

On Tuesday 20th August we had James Wood from 'CNB Safe' speak to both our Junior and Senior school students. He shared his story and explained how he ended up in a wheelchair after a workplace accident in his early 20's. The focus of the talk was on making good choices and how taking a risk or making a poor decision could have a devastating effect on your life and those around you. The students were very engaged with many taking the opportunity to ask James further questions about his life, key messages and thoughts.
