Year 8 Update

This term, Year 8 students have been diving into some exciting and valuable learning experiences in their Physical Education and Health classes. The term 3 focus has been on ‘Net and Wall’ sports in PE and the ‘Sexuality’ unit in Health has not only broadened their skills but also contributed to their personal growth and understanding.

In Physical Education, Year 8 students have been mastering the ‘Net and Wall’ unit. This engaging unit includes sports and activities such as table tennis, speedminton and badminton, where students learn key techniques and strategies to excel in these games. They've been practicing their serving, volleying, and strategic play, developing both their individual skills and teamwork abilities.

Highlights of the unit include a series of friendly matches and skills workshops, where students had the opportunity to put their learning into practice. Many students have expressed their enjoyment of the hands-on activities and the chance to work with their peers in a fun and supportive environment.

In Health, the focus has been on sexuality, an essential topic for young people as they navigate their personal development and relationships. This unit provides students with accurate information and fosters open discussions about sexuality, consent, and respect.
