Year 9 Update

Year 9’s

Upcoming Camp

In the first week of term 4, the Year 9’s are due to attend Rubicon Camp, leaving Wednesday morning and returning Friday afternoon (Oct 9 – 11).

We would love to take as many Year 9’s as possible so this is a reminder to give consent and organise payment through Compass today! There is also a printed Rubicon form which can be collected from the Main Office or printed from the event attachments on Compass.

The cost is only $150! This includes transport to and from the camp, all food, equipment and accommodation. And it gives the students an outdoor-ed experience with a nice comfy bed to sleep in at night.

Subject Selection for Year 10

Thank you to all families for completing the subject survey on time! It is a mammoth effort, and we know sometimes students may not know which direction they want to head at this stage of their schooling. If your child has not yet completed this, could you please have it done ASAP. Late submissions could mean they don’t get subjects they are interested in.

If a VET course is on your child’s list, these separate forms need to be returned to Ms O’Brien ASAP to make sure you don’t miss out on a place.

English text: Edward Scissorhands

This term in English, the Year 9’s are studying Edward Scissorhands. We have watched this in our classes, however you might want to have a viewing at home and a discussion about the themes in preparation for the impending assessments. The film is available on ClickView – ask your child’s English teacher for the link!
