NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week was celebrated with numerous activities for students during lunch and class time.
The week began with Miss Aldridge receiving a Youth Education or Employment Achievement award at the EMR NAIDOC Ball, followed by a whole school assembly where her brother, Nelson, (class of 2015) shared the significance of NAIDOC and his family's history in Healesville.
Year 12 students organized activities including a longest kick competition, boomerang throwing contest, NAIDOC art competition and expo, and a dreamtime storytelling session. A busy week to kick off Term Three.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP PERSPECTIVE
Healesville High School supported NAIDOC week in term 4, this year's theme was keep the fire burning. We held events such as dreamtime story telling in our library, a gratitude session, boomerang throwing, close the gap art unveiling in our art factory and a longest kick competition which was a success. All events were run throughout lunch time for the students to participate in. It was a fun and exciting week for all.
