It has been another productive fortnight at North Melbourne Primary School, with our students and staff continuing to embrace the opportunities and challenges of Term 3. There has been a strong focus on learning, wellbeing and building positive relationships across our school, alongside a busy calendar of events and activities at both campuses. 

2026 Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement.

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.

The survey will be conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers. 

The survey is available in English and 10 other languages: Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If you require assistance in another language, resources may be available for you. 

Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school if you require assistance in another language.

The Parent/Carer Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 17August to Friday 18 September 2026. More information can be found on Compass.

2027 Prep Enrolments

Last week we sent enrolment confirmation letters to the families of our 2027 prep students. Congratulations to our new students and families on this milestone. We look forward to welcoming our next cohort of Preps into NMPS when they begin their transition session next term with our current Prep teaching team.

Year 6 to 7 Secondary Transition

Congratulations to our Year 6 students who have been offered and accepted their secondary school placements for Year 7. We thank Kristen Pepyat and the Year 6 teaching team for their support and oversight of this important process. 

2027 Student Numbers

As shared in the last newsletter, planning for the 2027 school year is now underway. To assist this process, we ask that families let the school know as soon as possible if your child or children will not be returning to North Melbourne Primary School in 2027.
