Mental Health and Wellbeing

Hi there DPS community,
Congratulations on the compeltion of Term 1. I hope you all take a moment to reflect and celebrate your successes of Term 1 and set goals for Term 2.
School Wide Positive Behaviour: I would like to congratulate and thank our wonderful students for the way they have followed our School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix. These great choices have resulted in our students collectively filling our jar! Next term, each year level will celebrate by watching a movie—this was the option students voted for.
Holidays: Our students have worked hard and earned a relaxing break. School holidays provide a great opportunity to:
-organise play dates and stay connected
-enjoy additional time in nature
-keep active through exercise
-take part in family activities like cooking
-read for enjoyment
-try something new or creative
-help out at home.
Morning Move Your Mind: Grade 3 and 4 students have enjoyed participating in a variety of activities that support their wellbeing, focus, and readiness for learning. Grade 3 and 4 students have participated in the program on a weekly basis in Term 1.
Lunchtime Clubs: Lunchtime clubs (Prep-2 on Monday and 3-6 on Tuesday) have been a wonderful addition to our school, giving students the chance to explore their interests, build friendships, and engage in fun and creative activities. I would like to thank our Wellbeing Leaders for leading these activities.
Chickens: Our school chickens continue to be a much-loved part of our community. Students enjoy visiting them and learning about their care. Thank you to our Grade 6 chicken monitors for leading this program.
Have a happy holidays everyone!
Mr Johnson
