Assistant Principal's Report - Julia Bay

Thank you everyone for a wonderful Term 1! We have had an extremely positive start to the year with, as always, many great things happening across the school. I would like to congratulate all of our students on their work in Term 1, and acknowledge our Prep students for their first full term of school. It is a big transition from Kinder to school and it is wonderful seeing their smiling faces as they embrace new challenges and learning.
In Week 8 our playground installation was completed and since then, students have enjoyed playing on the new equipment of both our junior and jenior playgrounds. I have asked students about their favourite equipment and received a range of answers:
'My favourite thing is the monkey bars because I like to go uside down!' - Layla
'I love the double slides because you can slide together with your friends.' - Hazel
'I like the new playground because it has expanded compared to the old one. There is new equipment which is challenging for the younger childre. I think it's great.' - Ariyan
'The cube climbing ropes on the senior playground is definitely my favourite. It's really challenging and sometimes students can't do it but they keep trying.' - Giselle
On Monday 23rd March we celebrated the amazing cultural diversity of our school community. Our students dressed up in traditional costumes of their culture, colours of their flag or orange for Harmony Day. It was a lovely day of celebration and learning about all the cultures that make up our school community.
I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable term break and look forward to seeing everyone when Term 2 begins on Monday 20th April.
