Hello High School

Year 7 2026

Introducing the Class of 2031

What happens when pupils from 54 different schools across the Perth metropolitan area converge on the city for the very first time? A new cohort of St George’s students is born.

Our incoming Year 7s, who joined us for two transition days earlier this month, enjoyed a true taste of things to come — exploring both St George’s campuses and the vibrant city surrounds.

Across both days, students had the opportunity to meet many of the key staff who will support them next year, including some of their teachers, PCG Tutors, their Heads of House, members of the Executive Team and Pastoral Care Team, and myself as their future Head of Year. It was wonderful to connect and meet with such a vibrant and enthusiastic group of students, and to see the early stages of new friendships beginning to form. These connections will be invaluable as students settle into their first few weeks of high school.

The days included important information about our Term 1 Camp in Week 3, which many students were excited to hear about. Students also experienced a variety of classes, such as Science, Art, Performing Arts, Music, Food Technologies, and Mathematics. These taster lessons provided a glimpse into what awaits them next year.

Students toured both the William Street and Murray Street campuses, learned about Chapel, and visited St George’s Cathedral where they met Father Gift and explored the significance of our worship space here at St George’s. A highlight for many was the lively game of Pirate Treasure at the Supreme Court Gardens, followed by a walk through the daily school route.

We hope these Transition Days helped ease nerves, spark excitement, and build confidence for the journey ahead. We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7s in 2026 – a reminder that this day will start at the Cathedral and not the School.

The new Year 7s will return on Wednesday, January 28, meeting first at St George's Cathedral for a transition day before Term 1 begins on Thursday, 29 January. New families are also reminded of our upcoming welcome events. Please be sure to RSVP — we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Wonderful times ahead.
