The awakening of Cowan House is truly under way. This term has been a turning point, with energy building and our vision for 2026 becoming clearer each week.

One of the highlights was welcoming our incoming Year 6 students in Week 7. For the first time, Red, Yellow, Green and BLUE shared the same space, and the Class of 2031 Cowan House shirts certainly stood out. Over two days, they experienced Maths, Science, Music, Art and Drama, explored St George’s Cathedral and the Supreme Court Gardens, and learned the “walk the right way” route along Hay Street. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and we cannot wait to see them return as Year 7s.

Meanwhile, our Year 11 students completed their Transition to Year 12 program, a week filled with challenges, teamwork and a growing sense of unity. It was also our first opportunity to come together as a House, and the connection that formed was encouraging to see. This term also marked the confirmation of our Cowan House leaders and founding members, the students who will set the tone for our first year. Uniform and foundation badge orders are in, our sync swim is taking shape, and planning for 2026 is well underway. Cowan House is ready to step confidently into the school community next year. Merry Christmas and a safe, well-deserved break.

It has been a remarkable year for Gandhi House, and a privilege to finish the school calendar by celebrating both our newest and soon-to-be senior members of the House. Our 2026 Year 7 Orientation was brilliant and offered a meaningful opportunity to welcome the next generation of Gandhi students. It was inspiring to meet our future Gandhites and hear about the strengths, interests, and perspectives they will bring to our House community in 2026.

Equally, our Year 11 students have stepped confidently into their upcoming roles as our most senior cohort. Their Year 12 Transition week showcased the maturity, leadership, and strong House spirit that will make them all exceptional role models and mentors next year. The diversity of passion and talent within this group continues to strengthen everything that Gandhi House stands for, and watching their positive contribution has been truly rewarding.

Congratulations to every student who ‘Found Their Brave’ in 2025. Whether it was joining a House event for the first time, taking the lead in an activity or starting a conversation with someone new in PCG, every moment contributed to the culture of connection, belonging, and community. Thank you for another outstanding year, Gandhi House.

Next year, I will be stepping away from Head of Gandhi to lead the HPE Department with Ms Scheele’s secondment to the ACC as Director of Sport Operations. Gandhi is in safe hands however, Miss Molly Raynor will switch ships and lead all things red next year and I will be cheering on from the sidelines. I wish Miss Raynor all the very best as she takes the lead of all things Gandhi, I am confident that she will lead well.  Bring on 2026!

Term Four has ended with a win for Lincoln House, winning the final House Week for the year!

Participation and House spirit was at an all-time high in 2025, and while we did not take the House Cup, the competition was a lot closer than the final point tally may make it seem.

As I look back on the year, some of my favourite memories naturally come from our victories, especially our incredible Interhouse Cross Country Carnival win in Term Two. But beyond the wins, what stands out most is the way Lincoln students consistently gave their best, supported one another, and demonstrated leadership and resilience. Watching our House come together time and again has been inspiring and a reminder of what makes Lincoln so very special.

Sophia and Orla did an outstanding job leading the House this year, leaving behind a legacy that I have no doubt Holly and Nancy will continue into 2026. They have already started brilliantly.

I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and I hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday break, with lots of rest and relaxation. Spend time with your family and friends and enjoy all the little things in life that we don’t always get to in our busy daily life. Thank you for another fantastic year, Lincoln House!

Just like that, we find ourselves at the end of 2025, and what a fantastic year it has been for Mandela House!

In Week 7, we had the pleasure of welcoming our 2026 Year 7s, the future Class of 2031, for their Orientation Days at St George’s. Our incoming students enjoyed a taste of high school life through classes in Mathematics, Science, Music, Art, Drama, and Home Economics. It was wonderful to see their excitement and curiosity as they explored what lies ahead. A special highlight was watching our newly appointed 2026 Mandela Leaders step confidently into their roles - guiding Year 6s, supporting them throughout the day, and beginning their leadership journey.

Week 8 brought our Year 11 students together for their Transition to Year 12 program, a week filled with new expectations, valuable learning opportunities, and moments that strengthened their resilience, teamwork, and readiness for their final year.

As we conclude the year, I want to extend heartfelt thanks to all the Mandela students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and contributions that they have made throughout 2025. From our graduating Year 12s to our youngest Year 7s, each of you has shown tremendous pride in being part of Mandela House and helped make this year a truly memorable one.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe, enjoyable holiday. We look forward to welcoming you back for an exciting 2026!
