Year 8 & 9 - The ultimate duo!

Student friendship, fun and stepping out of your comfort zone!

Sixty Year 8 and 9 students had an amazing time at The Great Aussie Bush Camp in Tea Gardens from 5 December to 7 December. Students participated in a range of activities including abseiling, the dual flying fox, mud run, giant swing, survivor challenge, high ropes, kayaking and raft building.  Above all, the fan favourite over the three day camp was the night activity Commando, where students tried to retrieve five key objects from the bush while trying not to be spotted by their teachers. It was definitely a strong effort by the students however, the prize was awarded to the teachers!

Both year groups demonstrated a positive attitude, a sense of camaraderie and the willingness to give any activity a go (even if it meant getting out of their comfort zone). It was fantastic to see how each student uplifted their peers and encouraged them whilst taking part in the activities.

We look forward to organising more events in the future! Well done Year 8 and 9!

Here's what Davina Kong had to say:

“I don't think I've ever done so many things in the span of 3 days like I did at camp. By day I was kayaking, climbing, ziplining and abseiling. At night I was eating lollies and staying up with friends until the morning. Thank you so much to all the teachers for their effort to organise this. None of this would have happened without their help “ - Davina Kong (Year 8)
