World Cup craze hits Cecil
Throughout Week 7, to celebrate the beginning of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the SRC and House Leadership teams organised the Cecil Hills High School World Cup. From Monday to Friday, all the school could hear was the net rustling and tackles crunching, with classic World Cup songs ringing in the background! Everyone who participated and spectated were all so passionate and the atmosphere created throughout the week (and especially Friday) was electric.
On Friday, the school was painted rainbow with the jersey day mufti. Students wore jerseys which represented their nation, or favourite club. It suited the World Cup theme perfectly. Also on Friday, the Grand Finals for the World Cup were held, and bragging rights were on the line for all of Stage 4, 5, and 6.
The winners, representing Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Australia respectively, all lifted the prestigious CHHS World Cup! It marked a great end to the event, and life-long memories were made.
As a plus, the Cecil community named Ms Li Donni as the People's MVP of the Teachers versus Students match after a landslide victory in an Instagram poll in our school's official page.
