Rewarding resilience
A day in the city
STARS and YARN Connect were rewarded at the end of Term 4 on their attendance and Champ points with a day out to Darling Harbour. This initiative is a form of recognition for the hard work and dedication the STARS and YARN students have demonstrated throughout the year in the classroom, with their peers and the wider school community. Students experienced the Wildlife Park and the Sydney Aquarium where they were able to learn and interact with a range of Australian wildlife and exotic animals.
Students were lucky enough to see one of the two Dugongs in the world kept in captivity named Pig. Throughout walking in SEA Life students went on a ride expedition on a boat in the Penguin tunnel and walked in the enclosed sea animals that swam across and above them. This was so interesting to see because there were lots of different species and it was a fun experience to see different fish in a habitat together.
Here's what our students had to say:
The day in the city was fun. We learnt so much from the sea life and wildlife park. The day was a memorable one. Sajidah Al-Mahdawi and Hajir Al-Mahdawi
