Support Unit goes to camp

In Week 9, students from the Support Unit participate in their first camp in over half a decade. Here’s what Dane Knudsen had to say about this experiences: 

What was your favourite thing about camp?

Dane Knudsen: “On the first day, My favourite thing about camp so far has been swimming on the pool. I love swimming and it just made me feel happy. Another I really enjoyed was being with my friends all day and sharing some cake and other desserts with them throughout the day.  But my absolute favourite moment was the disco where I got dance to Titanium, “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars, and “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift.” 

What other activities did you take part in during camp?

Dane Knudsen: “I enjoyed working with my friends to pull other friends up so they could go on the giant swing. It made me practice the strength of my pull. I also went on a slide in the playground and again, that made me feel really happy.”

How did it feel having the opportunity to be in an overnight camp with your friends?

Dane Knudsen: “I really did enjoy it. I enjoyed getting to know both Eric and Anthony throughout the camp.”

Students also had the opportunity top go a giant swing. Here’s how Izack Pokorski and Anthony Ngov described their experiences in the giant swing:

Izack Pokorski: “My favourite thing about camp was going on the giant swing. At first, I was really nervous, especially when they were raising me up the swing. I was so scared. I started screaming after I pulled the release rope but after a few seconds, I felt excited and it ended up being so fun. I definitely want to come back next year! I would love to return to the same venue if possible.”

Anthony Ngov: “My favourite thing about the camp was the giant swing. I was kind of terrified but it still felt awesome. I had so much fun. I also enjoyed the bottle rocket activity. The rocket flew sideways and it made me feel really excited.”
