Internal Community Engagement

In 2022,  a new STARS Connect Initiative was established to enable students with refugee backgrounds to utilise their literacy skills and give back to the Cecil Hills High School community. 

The Reading with the STARS program entails STARS students choosing a picture book to read to the Learning Support Unit during their fortnightly assembly. 

This program is highly rewarding as it provides an opportunity for students who may be reserved due to their past experiences to showcase their literacy skills, build confidence, collaborate and exercise their leadership skills. 

Overall, the Support Unit were highly engaged through the enthusiastic reading, questioning and visual images presented.
