Year 6 into Year 7 Transition

A key transition phase

On 29 November 2022, our school held its annual Year 6 into Year 7 Orientation Day.

Here's what our one of our school captain had to say about her experience mentoring Year 6 students during Orientation Day:

Jazmyn Rizzuti: "I, along with all the other Senior Leaders, was all so eager to meet our Year 7’s of 2023. 

After the brief information session with the parents and carers, we all separated into our groups and got straight into our Period 1 activity. Group 3, led by Leo Gonzalez and myself, started with building a terrarium with Ms Reid, Mr Evans, Ms Dikic. All the students were excited to explore the school that would become their second home for the next 6 years. 

Meeting new teachers from different faculties each period, the Class of 2028 made a great impression, with smiles never leaving their faces. Throughout the day we got to know the students in our group, and thankfully they went from calling me 'Miss' to just 'Jaz'. 

The group's favourite was the ‘Amazing Race’ that brought our day to a close with Mr Dunn and Mr Floriano. It was an awesome day getting introduced to some of the amazing students who will be be joining the Cecil family next year. "
