NAIDOC Luncheon

Souths Cares

In celebration of NAIDOC week this year, Cecil Hills High School was invited to the South Sydney Rabbitohs luncheon at South Sydney Leagues Club. This exclusive invitation was open to a unique bunch of students who have shown respectful and responsible behaviour across the schooling year.

During the luncheon, our students had the pleasure of meeting star football players Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Murray as well as Aboriginal elders and community leaders.

Throughout the luncheon, students enjoyed a delicious three course meal, traditional Aboriginal performances, inspirational speeches and entertainment throughout.

Souths Cares is an Aboriginal Educational mentoring group that is a part of the South Sydney Rabbitohs Leagues Club.  Souths Cares is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting families and communities with educational training and support.

Cecil Hills High School is honoured to be taking part in such a great program that supports our Aboriginal students in continuing to be successful and responsible students across all areas of their learning.

Souths Cares Mentoring Project

Throughout 2020 Yarn Connect class has been working with the South Sydney Rabbitohs on wonderful Aboriginal Art that will be displayed across the school.

It has been a fun filled year with our Mentors -  Kelly and Reece and we are happy to announced the program will continue throughout 2021.
