Charity begins at school

Focussing on Kindness

This year students in Year 8 focussed on a Kindness theme. Students in each Connect class were required to choose a charity, research it and present their research to their year advisers. 

The students' presentations on the various charities were absolutely amazing.  It was an incredibly difficult decision - however, after much deliberation, we decided that our Focussing on Kindness fundraising for 2020 would be to support Foodbank Australia. 

Students joined a committee, met every Friday during lunchtime and began working on ideas to raise money. We started by creating advertising material and spreading the word to each Connect class within the school. Students held volleyball tournaments and lolly guessing competitions -  which were a huge success. It was great seeing all students contribute to such a great cause. 

During term four, we held a food drive whereby students were invited to donate non-perishable items. We want to thank the amazing group of students that have assisted all year in working towards this charity initiative
