On Wednesday 1st July and Friday 3rd July, students from 7G, Year 9 elective Japanese and Year 10 elective Japanese had the opportunity to participate in online video calls with students from Tsuchi Junior High School in Kashiwa (Camden’s sister city) in Japan with Tanaka Sensei.
The Tsuchi Junior HS had developed a presentation in English about their recent school trip to Kyoto and Nara, and our students had the chance to introduce themselves in Japanese.
Our school has an opportunity again to have similar online video calls in September with a different school with our sister city Kashiwa called Nakahara Junior High School. This time some of our older elective Japanese students will attempt to talk about Camden in Japanese to describe what our beautiful town is like.
It’s always amazing to see our students step outside their comfort zone and use their language skills in real world situations.

Year 12 Visual Arts and Music 1 students are currently hard at work completing their major works and elective programs. We are excited to announce the upcoming HSC Music 1 Showcase on August 26th, a special event for parents and close friends to celebrate our students' talent and dedication. We wish all our Year 12 students the very best of luck as they prepare for their final assessments!
Camden Street Flag Competition
Congratulations to our talented Year 9 Photography and Year 11 Visual Arts students whose artworks have been selected for display as part of the Camden Kerbside Street Flag Competition. Their successful submissions were chosen for their strong subject matter, visual impact, vibrance and overall quality. They are currently on display throughout Camden and Oran Park on street flags, bus shelters and the kerbside displays.
This is a wonderful achievement and a fantastic opportunity for our students to have their creativity showcased within the local community. We are incredibly proud of all students who participated and shared their artistic talents!
