From the Principal

Term 2 concluded with our Year 12 students completing their trial HSC exams. These practice exams offered a valuable chance to familiarise themselves with the HSC exam structure, timing, and pressures.
The experience helps students pinpoint their strengths and areas needing improvement, enabling them to develop effective study plans, manage exam stress, and build confidence ahead of the final HSC exams.
We are confident that our students will thoughtfully reflect on their trial exam performances and use the feedback and results to prepare thoroughly for the HSC exams in Term 4.
Congratulations to all our talented performers who made this year’s CAPA mid-year showcase a fantastic event.
Behind the scenes, our tech and backstage crews - primarily VET Entertainment students - played a crucial role in making the performances look and feel professional. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff who consistently go above and beyond to support our students. Whether through extra rehearsal time or cheering from the audience, your commitment is truly appreciated.
It was wonderful to see so many students, siblings, and families attending the showcase. This strong community support is one of the many things that make our school such a special place.
This Public Education Week, themed “Inspiring Excellence,” Camden High School proudly highlighted the remarkable dedication and experience of its staff, who continue to drive excellence in public education for our students and community.

The External Validation Process: A Partnership for Excellence
At our school, we are committed to providing the best possible education for your children. To help us achieve this, we participate in a process called External Validation, which ensures we continuously improve and meet high standards of teaching and learning.
What is External Validation?
External Validation is a process that schools in New South Wales use to review their achievements and areas for growth. It’s based on the NSW Department of Education’s School Excellence Framework—a guide that outlines what great schools do to support student success.
How Does the Process Work?
Self-Assessment: Firstly, we look closely at what we are doing and identify areas where we can improve. This reflection is guided by the Schools Excellence Framework, which covers key areas such as teaching quality, student engagement, leadership, and school environment.
Gathering Evidence: We collect information and examples that show our strengths and challenges. This might include student results, feedback from the school community, and examples of school programs.
Validation Visit: An independent team from the Department of Education visits our school to review our self-assessment and to get a clear picture of our school’s performance.
Feedback and Improvement: After the visit, the external team provides us with feedback that celebrates our strengths and gives advice on areas to focus on next. This feedback helps us plan for ongoing improvements to better support your child’s learning and wellbeing.
Why Does This Matter to You?
Your child’s education is a partnership between school and home. External Validation helps us be transparent, accountable, and focused on continuous improvement, and helps our school to stay on track in providing a supportive and effective learning environment.
