Sustainability Team

Our new Sustainability Team, replaces the Environmental Club, meet the team:

Hello from Wantirna College’s Sustainability Team! We are a small but passionate team of students: Alia Mohammadi, Alice Rose, Elizabeth Robertson and Emily Free in Year 9, as well as myself and Meghan Watz in Year 11. With the help of Ms Alpcan and Ms Wallis, we’re looking forward to making some real change here at the college.

Our vision is to communicate the importance of environmental action to all students here at Wantirna and work towards becoming a more green school. 

Protecting our environment is incredibly important, as climate change is an urgent issue that has the ability to impact future generations. 

This week, a survey was released to the entire student body, which will help us identify common areas of concerns students have regarding the rubbish at school.

Backyard Biodiversity Photography Competition

In other news, ResourceSmart Schools is hosting a photography competition centred around the theme Backyard Biodiversity this year! 

As well as winning a cash prize and the opportunity to have your work showcased, this competition is a chance to become more connected with the local flora and fauna.
