Yr 9/10 Bakery/Café
In the B Block kitchens this week, flour-dusted hands are doing something unexpected this week — painting. Not with brushes, but with cherry tomatoes, rings of capsicum, and stems of spring onions; all pressed gently into golden, dimpled dough.
A variety of fresh vegetables were arranged into flowers, hearts, even a full bouquet with green onion "stems" connecting two blooms. One standout used purple shallot petals around a golden bocconcini centre, looking almost too pretty to cut into. Another went sweet with a pepper-ring heart stuffed full of roasted tomatoes.
Not everyone went for symmetry either — some trays had a looser, scattered look with tomatoes, herbs and onion just tossed on freeform, and the rustic look worked just as well!

Once baked, the veggies caramelized into deep, glossy colors and the whole kitchen smelled incredible. Well done Bakery/Café on your incredible, edible masterpiece creations!
