Book Week Re-Cap

Another Book Week done and dusted. What an incredible MONTH it was, as we had Book Week celebrations all through August culminating in our Book Dress up day and parade.

The winners of the CBCA book of the Year awards this year were Inked by Karen Wasson in the Young Reader’s Category and Once I was a giant by Zeno Sworder in the Picture book category

Joining us for Book Week this year were Tristan Bancks, George Ivanoff and Heidi McKinnon who shared their writing and illustrating tips with the 3-6s, Meerkat Productions who put on a hilarious show of Dear Broccoli for the P-2s, and of course the superstar and Children’s Laureate himself, Mr Andy Griffiths. Many year levels also took part in online author events.

The theme for this year was A symphony of stories, so learning spaces were decorated with a musical theme- books transformed into musicals, books with musical themes and the incredible work of the Grade 4s and their Record Breaking reads.
