Year 3 - ‘Mechanics & Magnetism’
Our Year 3 students took their science learning outdoors this week to test different environmental materials. They used their hands-on investigation skills to discover which natural and human made objects are magnetic. We also discovered how electromagnets worked and their applications.
Year 4 - ‘Thermodynamics!’
Year 4 students are stepping into the world of sustainable architecture. They are learning about Passive House design and how smart building choices can keep homes comfortable without using extra energy. This unit is helping them understand how design choices impact our environment.
Year 5- ‘Optics: Absorbed, Reflected & Refracted’
Year 5 is blending science and history by constructing functional pinhole cameras. This project allows students to see how light travels to project images inside a dark space. Keep an eye out for the next newsletter when the photos are developed!

Year 6 - ‘Electronic Product Development and Design’
ear 6 is exploring electricity production and the mechanics behind Australia's power grids. Students are investigating the differences between renewable and non-renewable energy sources. Crucially, they are analysing how these energy choices affect the environments and daily lives of different communities. We are also continuing to design our electrical products.
