In week 7 we had another fabulous Assembly performance from Yr 6, with Charlotte, Lucas, Tess, Benji, Maria and Jacob providing some rocking musical back-up to all the Yr 6 students singing a rousing version of the Neil Diamond classic “Sweet Caroline”

In class time Yrs 5 and 6 have been continuing to incorporate Wurundjeri perspectives in their Performing Arts work, using a back-up music to compose dance and drama narratives based on the concept of ‘Caring for Country’ 

Prep to Year 2 classes have been learning “Taba Naba” a traditional song from the Torres Strait Islands. They also used the song to build some drama performances following the song’s theme of fishing and playing on the reefs of Australia’s far north.

The Performing Arts team and the Science Team combined in book week with a dress up theme based on Roald Dahl’s fantastic Mr Fox. Patrick is reportedly considering wearing his dress up wig, suit and tummy-cushion as daily attire. 

 Vale Dolly Parton

Our team also joins the rest of the world in mourning the passing of the one and only Dolly Parton. A supremely talented singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, Dolly also used her influence to spread love, tolerance and understanding (even towards Jolene) She also used her fortune to donate millions books to underprivileged children. 

Dolly! We will always love you!
