Message from Principal Sarah

As always, it has been another busy and exciting fortnight at NMPS!

Over the past two weeks, we have enjoyed our Annual Book Week Character Dress-Up Parade, Open Classrooms showcasing our wonderful book displays, Year 5 Camp and a number of excursions across our Errol Street Campus.

This week is just as busy, with our Year 6 students enjoying Ski Camp, our Kids in Space Showcase on Tuesday and a Performing Arts Open Classroom event. We are also looking forward to welcoming families to our Annual BBQ Breakfast on Friday 4 September at our Errol Street Campus from 7:30am–8:45am.

Thank you to our students, staff and families for the energy and support you continue to bring to all of these events. 

Respectful Behaviours within the School Community

As we head into the final weeks of Term 3, I would like to remind all families that at NMPS, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all students, staff and families. We all have a role to play in upholding these values.

If you have a concern regarding your child, we ask that you always bring it directly to your child’s classroom teacher in the first instance. Our teachers are best placed to listen, provide context and work with you towards a resolution. To protect the wellbeing of all students, we ask that parents and carers do not approach other students or their families about school-related concerns.

Our school community thrives on trust and mutual respect. For this reason, we also ask that families refrain from discussing other students or families with one another. Conversations about specific children outside of the appropriate school channels can unintentionally cause harm, spread misinformation or breach privacy.

By following these expectations, we help ensure that every child feels safe, respected and supported, and that all families can confidently engage in a positive school environment. Thank you for your partnership in maintaining a respectful and supportive school community.

Parent/Carers Opinion Survey Reminder

As shared in previous newsletters, our school is conducting the annual 

Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. 

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. 

The survey link is available via Compass and will remain open until Friday 18 September 2026.

The survey is being conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers.

The survey is available in English and 10 other languages: Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If you require assistance in another language, resources may be available for you. Please reach out to the front office if you require assistance in another language.
