Term 3 Performing Arts

All students who play a musical instruments have an opportunity to practise and perform in front of their class during the Performing Arts lesson. I encourage parents to bring copies of their childs music notes to keep in the Performing Arts room or I am happy to photocopy the music notes for you.

Prep - year 2

Prep to year 2  students are continuing to learn music through beat and rythym using ribbons and ribbon sticks.

We are also learning various traditional clapping games which you can also practise at home.

These include "a sailor went to sea sea", "Miss Mary Mack" and "Patty cake patty cake".

Year 3 to 6

Year 3 to year 6 students are learning to play the ukelele. We are concentrating on the three main cords- C, F and G.

We have been practising playing to "Somewhere over the rainbow" and "You are my sunshine".  If your child has a ukelele at home, I strongly encourage you to practise at home.

Choir, Dance and Band

Choir, Band and Dance have been busy rehearsing each Wednesday lunchtime.

Choir, Band and Dance are very excited to perform "Reach"at our face to face assembly on Friday the 6th of August. Please come and support our dance group at assembly.

Choir, Band and Dance will also be walking to Doncaster kindergarden to perform on Friday the 11th of September at 2.00pm.

Year 5 Drama Club 

The year 5 drama club have been busy rehearsing each week for our year 5 level performance on Thursday the 10th of September. Thank you to John for volunteering his time and effort. We appreciate it!

Author Chris Collins -Book Week

In Performing Arts we have been reading picture books by the author Chris Collins, who will be visiting our school during book week. The studnets have thoroughly enjoyed listening to Mr Collins stories.
