Welcome back to Term 3! I hope all of our students, families and staff enjoyed a restful and refreshing holiday break. We look forward to another exciting term filled with opportunities as we continue working together to support every student.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Families have been invited to participate in Parent/Teacher Interviews this week. Please note that, due to the planned stop-work action on Thursday 23rd July, interviews originally scheduled for this Thursday have been rescheduled to Thursday 30 July. Interviews scheduled for Wednesday 22nd July will continue as planned. 

These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child's Semester 1 report, celebrate their achievements, and talk about their learning goals for the remainder of the year. Further information, including booking details, can be found on Compass.

100 Days of Prep

Congratulations to our 2026 Prep students, who will celebrate 100 Days of Prep on Tuesday 28 July. This special milestone is a wonderful opportunity to recognise just how much our youngest learners have grown since starting school. It has been a pleasure to watch them develop confidence, independence and friendships while making excellent progress in their learning. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to seeing them continue to grow throughout the remainder of the year.

Curriculum Day – Professional Learning

During our recent Curriculum Day, staff participated in Cultural Understanding and Safety Training (CUST), an important professional learning opportunity that supports our commitment to creating culturally safe, inclusive and respectful learning environments for all students. 

The training deepened staff understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives, while strengthening our knowledge of culturally responsive practices and the importance of embedding First Nations perspectives across the curriculum. This learning is an important part of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation and ensuring every student feels a strong sense of belonging, respect and inclusion within our school community.

Staffing Update

As we move through the term, I would like to acknowledge several valued members of our staff as they embark on new professional opportunities.

We congratulate Zoe Bourdon, who has accepted a position with the Department of Education. Zoe has made a significant contribution to our school community, and we thank her for her dedication and commitment to our students. We wish her every success in this exciting next chapter.

We also congratulate Tom Drummond, who is currently serving as Acting Principal at Carlton Gardens Primary School for the first two weeks of term. This is a wonderful professional opportunity, and we know Tom will make a positive impact in his leadership role during his time at Carlton Gardens PS.

Finally, we farewell Toli Hardiman, who has resigned from his position to pursue new opportunities. We are grateful for Toli's contribution to our school community and thank him for the support he has provided to our students. We wish Toli all the best in the future.
