AEU Stop-work action - Thursday 23rd July

The Australian Education Union has called on its members to take Stop-work action on Thursday 23rd July 2026.

North Melbourne Primary School will be significantly impacted, with the vast majority of staff (teachers, leaders and education support staff) not available onsite on this day.

Due to the reduced number of staff onsite, the school will operate a supervision only program, rather than a normal teaching and learning program. We are prioritising attendance for children of critical service workers or families with special circumstances who are unable to make alternative arrangements. 

If  this will cause you difficulties, in particular if you are a critical services worker, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Please note, BEK will also be closed on Thursday 23rd July, including before and after school care.
