Year 7 have been diving into the world of historians and archaeologists - and even trying it out for themselves! In a hands-on challenge, students became “junior archaeologists,” carefully excavating chocolate chips from a cookie using only toothpicks. The task tested their patience and precision as they worked to preserve their “artefacts” without causing damage. A fun (and delicious!) way to understand the skill and care required in real archaeological digs.

Miss Carter’s class recently participated in a hands-on excavation adventure! Students were invited to bring a small item from home or their garden, ready to be uncovered in a simulated archaeological dig. Heading outdoors, the class carefully buried their artefacts beneath dirt and grass before swapping roles to become expert excavators. They brushed away soil, uncovered hidden treasures, and shared their exciting discoveries with their peers.

A very warm welcome to all students and families as we begin the 2026 school year. It has been wonderful to see classes already engaged and enthusiastic as they explore their first units of study across the HSIE faculty.
We extend a special welcome to our new Year 7 students and their families as they join the Camden High School community. We also congratulate Year 11 as they commence their Preliminary HSC journey. In 2026, the faculty is proud to offer courses in Legal Studies, Modern History, Business Studies, Ancient History and VET Business Services, providing students with a wide range of pathways and opportunities.
Our Stage 5 electives continue to thrive, with Year 10 Commerce and Year 9 and 10 Psychology attracting students eager to deepen their understanding and develop new skills. It has been fantastic to see such strong interest and commitment early in the year.
To support a positive start to learning, we ask that all students come to school ‘Ready to Learn’ each day with the required books for every subject, a fully equipped pencil case, and their school planner. As per school policy, mobile phones must remain secured in the school-issued pouch throughout the school day.
