Learning and Support
Welcome back to a new year at Camden High School.
A warm welcome to our new Year 7 students and families who have embarked on their high school journey. The Secondary Studies faculty has spent a lot of time assisting students with their transition to high school and the Camden High environment. It has been our pleasure to get to know our new students and supporting them in the classrooms.
The new year is often a time to set new learning goals and challenges. There are many learning support processes and supports in place to assist students achieve their best in 2026.
For new students with a disability, a Personalised Learning and Support Plan (PLaSP), may be created to help support students achieve their potential within the classroom with strategies and goals co-developed with the student, family and informed by external care providers. For current students, PLaSP goals may need to be adjusted to ensure that the plan is effective in continuing to support student need. A reminder that PLaSPs are fluid and are designed to be updated and changed if strategies do not support student learning.
Year 7 and 9 students will undertake NAPLAN from 11th - 23rd March. It is important to remember that NAPLAN is not about passing or failing but about assessing learning progress.
Parent/carer information can be found here:
Further information about NAPAN will be distributed shortly via SchoolBytes.
Year 10 will complete the HSC Minimum Standards tests in Reading, Writing and numeracy later in the term. As with NAPLAN, further information about these tests will be distributed via School Bytes.
TASC (Teacher Assisted Study Centre) reopened Thursday week 4 in the library from 2:00pm - 3:00pm. Teachers from all faculties are available during this time to support students with their assessments, homework, and any classwork they may be struggling with.
Over the holidays, we have revamped the library space with some funky new furniture to create some comfortable, quiet and inviting reading spaces. This provides plenty of opportunity for our students to indulge in, or discover, their love of reading. We also have a newly constructed room in the library, a dedicated space for extracurricular activities, clubs (watch this space), Tournament of Minds etc.

The library is running Book Bingo this term - a whole range of categories for students and teachers alike to cover with their reading. Once a whole row or column is filled, everyone who contributed to that row gets a prize. The competition is on!
For students looking to enrol in Year 7 2027 and 2028, save the date in your calendars: Open Night is Thursday 12th March from 4pm to 6pm. Join us for a guided tour of the school, speak with Head Teachers and faculty staff, learn about the enrichment class application process and more. Further details including how to RSVP is available on the website and Facebook pages.
Here’s to a great year Camden High School.
