Camden High P&C February 2026 Update 

The first Camden High School P&C meeting of the year was held online on Tuesday 17 February with a positive turn out.  

 

Joanne Bui, head teacher of Secondary Studies, gave the group a presentation on the role of the faculty at Camden High. This included giving parents an understanding about how adjustments can be made for student learning and assessments and the process to be approved for these - whether for known health or learning needs, or recent injuries or life events that can significantly impact a student’s ability to be assessed fairly.  

 

These presentations always give great insight into how different faculties support the students and we are grateful to the staff who give their time to present. 

 

The next P&C meeting will not have a faculty presentation as it is the Annual General meeting (AGM). The school and the P&C encourage parents and carers to come along and also consider joining the committee. It does not mean you need to have a role, rather just to come and hear about what is happening in the school, share your own perspectives and experiences, and raise any questions you may have. All the current members find each meeting helpful in better understanding how the school works, make decisions, be a part of relevant decisions, and how they can better support their own teenager/s at home.  

 

The joining fee is $2 but you do not need to be a member to attend meetings. 

 

This month’s meetings also had discussion about hats, school communications, and the uniform quality and design. These issues often come up between families and on social media, but it would be helpful to have more voices speak to this at the P&C meetings, where issues can be better explored and options for improvements can be discussed as a group and with the school. 

 

P&C meetings for 2026 will alternate between online and face-to-face, with the first meeting of the term to be online and the second meeting to be face-to-face in the school library. It is hoped that this greater flexibility will help more families join the meetings, hear the presentations and ask any questions. 

 

Meeting times and dates: 

For Terms 1, 2 and 3, the P&C meet Week 4 and 9 of each term at 6.30pm, alternating between online meetings and the school library. Online links will be provided in the week before the meeting. Parking is in the staff car park for face-to-face meetings. Term 4 meetings dates will be adjusted and communicated to factor in competing calendar events.
