Sandringham College sent four teams to the Lacrosse Victoria state finals on Friday 2nd August. The teams were coached by Jazz Stout, our education support staff member and facilitated by Ingrid Scharer, science teacher.
The students had a great day and learnt a lot about the modified 3 v 3 'quick sticks' format of lacrosse.
Sandringham College will be sending 80+ students to the Kingston division athletics carnival on Thursday 12th September. If your child has been selected to be a part of the team, you will find an event on Compass that will require $20 payment and permission.
Below is a copy of the team list and which events each child is in.
A schedule for the carnival day will be released in September.
On Wednesday 7th August Mr Christopoulos and his team of year 7 girls soccer players competed at the SMR finals. The girls defence was supurb and it was impossible for their competitors to get a goal against them, with zero goals scored against! On a count back, they missed getting into the pool A v pool B finals by 1 goal! As you can see in these photos, soccer is a serious game ... and sometimes it's not!

Through fundraising efforts and school council funds, the college has been able to purchase new netball dresses and AFL jerseys. Our netballers were given the opportunity to wear these dress in term 2. The AFL jerseys have only just arrived and will be worn in 2025. We look forward to having our athletes represent the college in the new kit!
