PE ramps up

Spring is in the air – and the weather was sensational for our first week back to start Term Four PE programs.

We had a fantastic start with Year 8 having their turn skateboarding at Beyond in North Perth. Year 10, Zara Jones works at Beyond Skate and competes in skating events. Her expertise was invaluable as she assisted the three Year 8 classes in their skating program. It is remarkable what the Year 8s achieved in one skating lesson, and the increased self-confidence makes students beam when they realise they can actually skate!

All students were able to scoot along by the end of the lesson despite nearly all of them never skating before. Some students progressed and with the help of the instructors were able to drop into ramps. They will continue the term with soccer at Wellington Square where students can bring along their skateboards and use the pump track at the park. The other two Year 8 classes are doing basketball and softball.

Year 7s have begun their tennis unit at Kings Park Tennis Club. Year 9s are playing Futsal at UWA, touch rugby and cricket. Year 10s are doing an Ultimate Frisbee tournament over the next five weeks.

Archery

🏹 Archery Co-Curricular is on again - every Thursday at UWA’s Riley Oval with Mary from Archer-to-Go. Spots are available if you want to come along and shoot. See me to join or sign up at reception.

Footnote: Don’t forget, hats are a requirement for Term Four Phys Ed classes .
