Hats off to our Year 12s

A few years ago I wrote a book titled High School Education, the Key to Your Elevation.  I wrote it to impress upon our young people the importance of education; how it is the key which unlocks doors that take a young person to unlimited heights of success.

The great Nelson Mandela, whose life was also transformed by seizing the educational opportunities before him, once wrote: “Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.”

Our young people need to be encouraged to utilise the educational opportunities before them.  In the high school book, I have several young people give testimony of how education transformed their lives. I also give tips on how to successfully navigate through high school because it is challenging, sometimes tough and difficult. But with a good plan and strategy, one can make it.

That is what I saw in our graduating Class of 2024. These students had determination. They worked so hard. They knew what they wanted to achieve and most of them have shared what they plan to do next, whether in university or TAFE.

So, this week has been a blessing attending the Year 12 Farewell Breakfast, Year 12 Stations of the School, Year 12 Final Assembly and the Year 12 Valedictory.

Hats off to the Class of 2024. Now that you have finished high school, may your elevation journey begin.
