Year 2 News

As a faith community, we have been exploring the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 and explored how Jesus showed love and care for others. We retold the story, identified the miracle Jesus performed, and discussed the importance of sharing food with those in need. We also made connections to the Eucharist by reflecting on how sharing a meal brings people together and reminds us of Jesus' love and generosity.
As readers, we took part in National Simultaneous Storytime and enjoyed reading Luna Roo together with students across Australia. We listened to the story, discussed its characters and themes, and watched the illustrator complete a live drawing. This special event celebrated the joy of reading and storytelling while inspiring our own creativity.
In STEM, we reflected on our rocket launch from the previous week and discussed what helped make our designs successful and what we would change to make it more effective. We enjoyed watching the video created by Mr Frazzetto that showcased our amazing accomplishments!
This week, we will be learning about…
- Numeracy: Measurement
- Literacy: Persuasive writing
- Spelling: The digraph /ou / making the sound "ow" as in house.
- Inquiry: Technology
- Religion: Reconciliation
- TRP: Gratitude
A reminder to all students to bring in their spelling sheet and diaries each Friday.
Have a great week!
