Today marks Day 73 of school, and we are getting closer and closer to celebrating 100 days of learning! It was another jam-packed week of learning and fun in Foundation.

In Literacy, we participated in National Simultaneous Storytime and enjoyed reading Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller. The story taught us the importance of perseverance, positivity and determination, as Luna never gives up and ultimately leads her team to victory.

As writers, we used our sounding-out skills, capital letters, finger spaces and full stops to write about how we are like Luna Roo. The students worked hard to apply these important writing skills and produced some fantastic pieces of writing. Be sure to check out our amazing work on display!

As People of Faith, we spent time learning about Reconciliation Week and the importance of reconciliation with Australia's First Nations peoples. We read Finding Our Heart, which helped us learn about the Uluru Statement from the Heart and its message of unity, respect and hope for the future.

Using Aboriginal symbols that we explored and discussed together, we created our own hearts to represent our learning. Our hearts show that we care for Australia's First Nations peoples and want to work together to care for, protect and love our country. Through this learning, we are developing our understanding of living together with respect, kindness and harmony.

We had an amazing time on our very first excursion on Friday! We walked to Shore Reserve, where we enjoyed exploring a new playground before watching our buddies launch the rockets they had designed and created. It was incredible to see the rockets soar high into the sky—some almost seemed to touch the clouds, while others performed exciting flips through the air! We were so proud of our buddies and their fantastic rocket creations. How lucky we were to experience launch day with them. The excursion has inspired us with lots of ideas, and we can't wait to design and launch our own rockets in the coming weeks!
