It is great to be back and working with the students and teachers.
St Bernards Maths Games Day
We had a fantastic day at St. Bernard’s Maths Games Day on Tuesday. Eight of our senior students proudly represented our school, competing against other local schools in a variety of challenging and engaging mathematical activities.
Throughout the day, the students demonstrated excellent teamwork, persistence and problem-solving skills, and they should all be very proud of their efforts and achievements.
We are thrilled to congratulate Felix C, Maddie C., Skyler F, and Madalen S on achieving second place overall. Congratulations also to Riley L, Tess N , Isaac S and Rafael S for their wonderful effort in achieving fifth place.
Well done to all students involved for representing our school so positively.
Foundation
Some of our Foundation students explored 2D shapes and described the properties of the shapes they created. They also combined different shapes to make new shapes.
What shapes can you make ? Can you describe the shape in your home?
Year 1
Our Year 1 students worked very well while exploring the capacity of a variety of containers through estimating and measuring activities using dice and Unifix cubes. They successfully compared the capacities of different containers and were able to order them from smallest to largest.
