The Wellbeing team has been working closely with Dignity, an Australian charity active in the Cranbourne area. Dignity supports individuals and families by providing essentials like safe shelter, nutritious food, clothing, and education. We’re proud to launch a new partnership with Dignity, CISC (Community Information and Support Cranbourne), and our senior Food Studies classes to produce nutritious frozen meals for the local community.
On a fortnightly basis, our senior Food Studies classes will produce a selection of healthy frozen meals while learning about the realities of issues surrounding food security, nutrition, and addressing food waste. The meals will then be transported to CISC in Cranbourne for the community to access. Individuals in need can attend the service and select from various options to access the meals.
A microwave is next to the purple Dignity freezer for quick heat-up. As we acknowledge the pressure that the increasing cost of living has on our community, no paperwork is required to obtain a meal. You can find additional information on support services if you need it.
If you would like to support this important cause in our local community, we seek donations of the following products to include in our meals. You can bring any of the following anytime to add to our Dignity cooking pantry staples.
For further information or to make specific donations of fresh food, such as meat and vegetables, please contact Sarah Carr at the college.
