Year 10 Work Experience

Year 10 Year Level Leader
At Year 10, we have been focusing on the upcoming Work Experience period, scheduled for June 23-27, as part of our STEP program's Unit 1, Industry and Enterprise. Students have brainstormed potential workplaces and begun calling or visiting them, demonstrating confidence and perseverance.
Positive stories of student determination include one student securing work experience via email while on holiday. It has been a testament to the students' problem-solving abilities that they have achieved what they have, including OH&S certification in general and industry-specific modules.
Our next steps are to help the remaining students finalise their work experience with Work Experience Workshops and Pathways Appointments.
Some Frequently Asked Questions:
What happens if I am unable to secure Work Experience?
We will work with you during Work Experience Week on finding a Work Experience some other time this year so that you can still receive all the benefits of Work Experience and help pass Unit 1 Industry and Enterprise.
What are the best ways to contact a workplace?
Phone or in-person, so that you can receive immediate feedback. Email is acceptable, but it may require patience as the recipient may take some time to respond.
Can I do Work Experience outside of 23 - 27 June?
Yes, but no Year 10 classes will be held from 23 to 27 June. Students completing Work Experience at other times may miss classes and will be required to complete any required learning tasks.
