Emergent 2024

Hayley Robinson

Arts & Technology Leader of Learning

Mrs Raymond and Mr MacLennan had the pleasure of attending the opening of Emergent 2024 at Bunjil Place. This annual exhibition celebrates the creativity and skill of young artists, designers, and filmmakers across the region. Out of 120 submissions, only 27 artworks were selected, and we’re thrilled to share that five of those were by our students - a truly remarkable achievement!

Adding to this pride, current Year 12 Grace Minty played a key role in curating the exhibition. Grace stood confidently before a large audience to introduce the show, demonstrating her curatorial insight and leadership qualities. During her speech, three very proud teachers with huge smiles stood nearby.

We were also delighted to see past student Olivia De La Roche Du Ronzet receive a significant award from Monash University for her powerful and beautifully executed self-portrait drawing.

Congratulations to all of the students involved: Skye Anand, Ashley Bhowal, Mariam Muhammad Ismail, Faeza Rahimi, Olivia De La Roche Du Ronzet, and Grace Minty. Your hard work and creativity have paid off in spectacular fashion, and we were proud to see it recognised at Bunjil Place by everyone who supports our thriving arts community.

We may be biased, but moments like these remind us why we believe we have the best Visual Arts department in the area.

The Emergent exhibition is not just a celebration of our students' talents - it’s a recognition of the lasting value of creative education in nurturing future artists, designers, and cultural thinkers. We are incredibly proud.
