From the Office

Attendance
Attendance is seen as a critical factor in successfully fostering the College's values of being a respectful, responsible learning community.
These values will ensure that students maximise their educational opportunities at this College. Students at Cranbourne Secondary College are expected to attend school on time, every day that the school program is running, subject to genuine illness or injury.
Students who are late or absent must provide a note to the office or via Compass explaining the reason for their absence, as the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development requires the College to retain attendance records for several years. Late students will receive a late pass to show their classroom teacher.
Contacting the College
If parents have concerns about their child’s learning or welfare, the school has processes and people in place to address them. If you have any questions, please contact the College and arrange to speak with the relevant Year-Level Engagement Coordinator.

Collecting your child
If you need to pick up your child before the end of the day, please provide a note or call the office ahead of time. Students with notes give them to their YLEC to obtain a leave early pass and exit out of the front office.
Payment of Voluntary Contributions
Voluntary Curriculum Contributions and Extracurricular items/activities can be paid on the Compass Parent Portal. If you need any assistance with this, please contact the General Office. If making payments in person, please use contactless card payments where possible. If paying by cash, please try to have the correct amount, as we may not have change.
Health
Please advise the school of any health concerns you have for your child. The start of the year is the ideal time to see your doctor to discuss your Asthma requirements and update your plan.
The Year 7 & Year 10 Vaccination dates will be advised on our website as soon as they become available.
Please DO NOT send your child to school if they are unwell.
Students wishing to use the Doctors in Schools Service, which operates on Mondays during the term, need to contact the College wellbeing team or complete the self-referral on Compass.
Change of Details
Have you changed your address, phone number, email address or medical details recently? If so, you must provide updated details to the College. Please collect a CHANGE OF DETAILS form from Reception or complete the form on our website. Alternatively, email cranbourne.sc@education.vic.gov.au with a request to change your details.
Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF)
2025 Applications for CSEF are now open. If you hold a Centrelink Health Care Card, are a refugee, or have an Immicard, please contact the front office to collect an application form.
Personal Items
The Department of Education does not hold insurance for personal property brought to schools and cannot pay for any loss or damage to such property. Parents and guardians of students who do not have student accident insurance/ambulance cover are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including the cost of ambulance attendance/transport and any other transport costs. Student accident insurance/ambulance cover policies are available from commercial insurers and can be obtained by parents/guardians for individual students. Private property brought to school by students, staff or visitors is not insured, and the Department does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage. Students are discouraged from bringing any unnecessary or particularly valuable items to school.
Students travelling on Public Transport.
Primary and secondary school students aged 5 to 18 can travel on a Child Myki. If you’re aged 17 and 18, you must carry proof of age ID (such as a passport, learner permit, driver's licence, Proof of Age card, or Key Pass) or evidence of another concession entitlement (such as a Health Care Card, a PTV School Student ID, or PTV Approved School Student ID).
School students can also purchase a half- or full-year student pass in their chosen area and must carry a PTV Approved School Student ID card or PTV School Student ID card.
