Term Four signals new beginnings for Cowan House. As we prepare for our official debut in 2026, I was reminded at Valedictory that every ending makes way for a new beginning. Next year, the celebrations will glow a little more blue.

At last week’s Handover Assembly, we proudly introduced our inaugural Cowan House leadership team:

  • Zara Jones (Cowan House Captain)
  • Bella Prayudi (Cowan House Prefect)
  • Adam Lazarevski (Academic Captain)

Congratulations! Our leadership group has already brought incredible energy and ideas to Cowan House. They have been helping to design our first events, shape our identity and encourage others to get involved. With the support of our founding Year 12s, their leadership is already turning our vision into reality.

At the start of this week, we officially opened our expressions of interests (EOIs) to join Cowan House! This is open to all Year 7 to 10 students until Friday 7 November (Week 4) 3:00pm. It has been incredible to see so many wanting to help shape our story from the very start. There is still time to become a part of this exciting new chapter. So, if you are interested in joining the House, please complete the form:

Together, we will create something lasting, a House built on Upholding Integrity. The future is bright, and it is undeniably blue.

It has been a wonderful start to Term Four, filled with both farewells and fresh beginnings as we said goodbye to our Year 12s and welcomed our amazing new Gandhi leaders.

In Week 2, I had the privilege of attending Wannabe Day, a fantastic send-off for our Year 12s. We wrapped up with one last House event, a mini athletics carnival, where our Gandhi 12s took out the Tug of War! It was fantastic to witness the House spirit and camaraderie on display one last time. On Valedictory Day, we began the morning with a lovely House breakfast, sharing stories and memories from Year 7 through to Year 12. Thank you to our graduating students for all they have contributed over their time in Gandhi House. Our culture of competition, fun, and inclusiveness would not be the same without their energy and leadership.

As we farewelled our seniors, we also welcomed a new era of Gandhi leadership with the appointment of our 2026 leadership team. Gandhi is fortunate to have eight outstanding students stepping into these roles, and I am confident they will continue to build on the strong foundations left by those before them.

A particular congratulations goes to Jade Fletcher and Harvey Miller, the new Gandhi House Captain and House Prefect.

It is going to be an incredible year ahead for Gandhi!

It is that bittersweet time of year when we say goodbye to our graduating Year 12 students. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather for all our farewell events, and I am incredibly grateful to have spent time with our Lincoln graduates—whether competing in laser tag, facing off in the Staff vs Student volleyball match, or simply reminiscing about their journey at St George’s – we had time to celebrate all things yellow and what Lincoln House has meant to them.

Thank you to all our graduates for the love and support you have shown Lincoln House. To Orla, our House Prefect —your gentle smile and calm presence have been a constant source of warmth in our meetings and events. You will be deeply missed.

To our House Captain, Sophia—your energy and drive have been truly inspiring. Under your leadership, Lincoln House has thrived, and your passion for building House spirit will continue to influence us long after your departure.

As we farewell our Year 12s, we also look ahead with excitement to our new Lincoln Leaders for 2026. Holly, our incoming House Captain, and Nancy, our new Prefect, have been active and enthusiastic members of Lincoln House, contributing to events across sport, sync swim, dance, music, and drama. I look forward to working with them and our Year 9 Lincoln House Prefects as we continue to grow our House spirit.

Next week marks our final House Week of the year, with plenty of opportunities to earn points through PAWS events like Dodgeball, Uno, Just Dance, and the Great St George’s Bake-Off. I cannot wait to see what our students bring!
