Year 11 & 12
Mr Tim Hayward
Every ending carries the seeds of a new beginning. On Monday, our school celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2025 and welcomed the next generation of leaders stepping forward with courage and purpose.
This occasion went beyond academic success—it was a testament to our school community and the bright future ahead. Congratulations to all award recipients and incoming student leaders. We look forward to seeing the impact you will make in the year to come.

On Tuesday, our Year 12s swapped uniforms for imagination as they embraced one of St George’s most cherished traditions—Wannabe Day. The fun began in the Year 12 Common Room at Murray Street, followed by a trip to Lazer Blaze for high-energy laser tag, teachers included!

Back at school, students enjoyed a rooftop pizza lunch and wrote heartfelt thank-you cards to staff. The afternoon featured the popular Staff vs Students Volleyball Match, with the staff team claiming victory once again, before concluding at Wellington Square with nostalgic outdoor games and free ice cream. Thanks to our Heads of House for the lasting memories.

Wednesday was a day of gratitude, celebration, and nostalgia as our Year 12s bid St George’s goodbye.
The morning began with a House Breakfast, a time for laughter, storytelling, and reflection. Students then participated in the Stations of the School, greeted at each stop by younger students offering songs, performances, and messages of appreciation—a moving reminder of the legacy the Class of 2025 leaves behind.
The Final Assembly brought the whole school together, in person or via livestream, featuring a heartfelt speech from Ms Hewitt reflecting on friendship, perseverance, and mathematics.

The day concluded with the elegant Valedictory Ceremony at St George’s Cathedral, where students received graduation certificates, awards, and celebrated afterwards with family at 441 Murray Street. The Valedictorian address by Ava Watters was an outstanding overview of all that the Class of 2025 have given to St George’s. May the Class of 2025 carry the values, friendships, and spirit of St George’s with them always.

Leadership at St George’s is about service, teamwork, and the courage to make a difference. Our outgoing leaders have guided with integrity, kindness, and creativity, shaping a culture of belonging and pride. To our new leaders—congratulations. You have been chosen for your character, enthusiasm, and commitment to others. Ahead lies an exciting journey filled with opportunities to grow, lead, and make a meaningful difference.
We wish the 2026 Student Leadership Team every success. Lead with wisdom, act with grace, and serve with courage.
