A dedicated member of the Ballet and Dance Companies, and a passionate musician, Juliette brings energy, creativity, and professionalism to this role. She is a true ambassador for the arts and will continue to inspire others both on and off the stage. She will be a sensational Performance Captain.

I am also thrilled to welcome Macy as our inaugural Dance Prefect, a newly created prefect position for 2026. A long-standing member of the Dance Company, Macy has performed in three major productions and is equally involved in Drama. Her joyful energy and dedication make her a role model and a vibrant presence.

Year 11 Solo Evening

Last night our new Drama and Dance studios came alive for the first-ever Year 11 Solo Evening, OnStage — a showcase of talent, dedication, and creativity. In preparation for upcoming practical exams, 14 students performed solo pieces, including Set Monologues, Candidate’s Choice Monologues, ATAR Set Solos, and Original Choreography. Each performance reflected weeks of hard work and artistic exploration, tackling themes like identity, resilience, and transformation.

The audience was captivated by the professionalism and emotional depth on display. Drama students brought a range of characters to life, while Dance students impressed with storytelling and technical precision. Well done to everyone who performed and thank you to all who attended as an audience for our students.

GUESS THE MUSICAL

The countdown is on to the big reveal of our 2026 musical.  The Performing Arts Leadership Team and our 2026 Leaders have been working behind the scenes to prepare one of our biggest and most exciting reveals yet, and trust us, this is one you won’t want to miss!

The Countdown

Each morning at 8:00am, various posters are being removed, bringing us one step closer to uncovering the 2026 musical. By Thursday of Week 4, only three posters will remain.

Can’t make it to Murray Street?

Students at William Street will still be able to join the excitement in the Laurence Library through a livestream graciously organised by our Drama Prefect Naima, Mr Hanssen and our Library staff.

Guess the Musical!

Our Guessing Competition opens Monday, Week 3 and closes Friday, Week 3. This fun challenge has been organised by Tessa (Year 8) and Lily (Year 8), with the support of Juliette (Performance Captain), because who doesn’t love a good guessing game?

Announcement: Friday, Week 4!

Lawson
Lawson

I am delighted to announce the appointment of our new Music Prefect, Lawson, an accomplished percussionist whose energy and enthusiasm for music are truly infectious. You will see him behind the drum kit at every Chapel service, DJing at the Athletics and Swimming Carnivals, and even jumping on the mixing desk to help run sound at concerts. His leadership and passion for all things music are sure to inspire students across the program—congratulations on this well-deserved appointment!

Earlier this week, our Concert Band students had a fantastic time participating in the AngliSchools Concert Band Day at Frederick Irwin Anglican School on Monday, 27 October. Under the baton of acclaimed composer and conductor Tim Newhouse, students worked collaboratively with musicians from across the Anglican Schools network to rehearse and perform some exciting repertoire, developing their ensemble skills and musicality along the way.

Looking ahead, our music calendar is full of exciting events to finish the year:

AngliSchools Evensong

Saturday, November 22

St George’s Cathedral

Sounds@Sunset

Friday, November 28

Planet Royale

Carol Service

Monday, December 1

We look forward to celebrating another incredible term of music-making as we head into the festive season. Congratulations to all our student musicians for their continued dedication and achievements!
