Happy World Teachers’ Day

Today we celebrated World Teachers’ Day with a delightful morning tea provided by the Friends of St George’s. Their generosity and personal thanks to staff across both campuses were greatly appreciated by all.

They also announced, with great anticipation by staff, the recipients of the 2025 Wish List Funding. In the 2025 round, the Friends of St George’s are excited to have approved the following special funding initiatives:

  • Phys Ed Department - $4000 for Cross Country and Athletics vests for the ACC Team and Netball uniforms for the ACC squad, to be kept by the HPE Department for ongoing use. These will be designed to meet the new "The Dragons" concept of our ACC Squads.
  • Inclusive Education Department - $3725 for MacqLit training for IEC staff to deliver MacqLit to students needing this support. MacqLit supports student outcomes for those struggling with literacy proficiency. This program will assist students with low levels of literacy  and be delivered through our LEAP Program in 2026 and beyond.
  • Dance and Drama Department - $3000 for a Weismann Performance Costume Set to assist with the ongoing development of dance and drama across Year 7 -12. These will be used annually by a wide range of students and provide access to professional costumes for all students in the performing arts.

Summer Uniforms

It has been so pleasing to see students return in their summer uniforms, looking smart and ready for the term ahead. A reminder that blazers are still required for Senior and Junior Chapel on Mondays and Thursdays. To make mornings easier, students are encouraged to keep their blazers in lockers, as they are not required to wear them to and from school this term.

Co-curricular

With the Co-Curricular program now in full swing, students are reminded to attend all activities they have committed to. After 3:30pm, students remaining on campus must be under staff supervision — either in a Co-Curricular activity, a meeting with a teacher, or Homework Help in the Library, which runs until 4:30pm.

Presentation Dates!

Year 7 & 8 Presentation Afternoon will be held on Tuesday, 9 December. Year 9, 10 & 11 Presentation Evening will be held on the night of the last day of school. Further details about Presentation Afternoon and Presentation Evening to conclude the school year will be sent out to families shortly.
