Our PE lessons for Term Four have started with lots of activity and fun. Year 7s are enjoying Netball at UWA and Tennis at Royal Kings Park Tennis Club. Year 8s are finishing their final sport rotations of Soccer, Softball and Basketball. Year 9s are all doing Cricket and will enjoy a Super 8s tournament. Our Year 10s are also working together and will participate in an Ultimate Frisbee tournament at Langley Reserve.
We have the 2025 Open Water Secondary Schools’ Championship Swimming competition taking place at Coogee Beach on 21 November. Good luck to the 20 students signed up. They will swim an individual event of 250m, 500m or 1km and a Relay Race. This is the third year that St George’s has participated in this event. It is run by Swimming WA who was overwhelmed by the number of schools that signed up in their inaugural year in 2023.
The PE Department are excited to have Anouk on board as the Sports Captain for 2026. We are looking forward to her initiatives and her ongoing contribution to sport at St George’s. Anouk is an incredible athlete with a very bright future in the swimming pool. Anouk has been an Interhouse Champion in Swimming and Cross Country. She has also achieved ACC Champion Girl in Swimming, breaking multiple ACC Swimming Records and achieving selection in ACC All Stars Swimming teams over the years. She has represented the school in ACC Hockey, Basketball and NWAS teams. Her contribution has already been outstanding. Anouk swims nationally and is very excited to be selected in a group who will have the privilege to be trained by Ian Thorpe’s Coach, Tracey Menzies.
Welcome to the PE Team, Anouk.
