Term Four has started with a whirlwind of celebrations, creativity and sad farewells.

The Handover Assembly saw us welcome the 2026 Captains & Prefects as they took over the leadership from the Class of 2025. Sophie and Cooper will lead a remarkable team of confident and capable students all of whom are already stepping up to serve our community with diligence and integrity.

Congratulations to all our Year 12 2026 leaders, those with titles and those without. I am so very excited to see just where you will take the school, the new ideas and initiatives that you will bring and the positive impact that you will undoubtedly have. In taking over as our Year 12 leaders, the words of Steve Jobs ring out ‘Leadership is about inspiring people to do things they never thought they could’. How very exciting is that!

So long to the Class of 2025

We then moved to bid our fond farewells to the Class of 2025 - Wannabe Day, Stations of the School, Final Assembly and Valedictory. A huge series of events. Each one celebrated the many and multiple talents of what have been an incredible cohort of students. I would like to sincerely thank the Class of 2025 for their leadership, their dedicated service to St George’s Anglican Grammar School and the wonderful contributions they have made throughout their time with us.

As they prepare for their final exams and the next chapters of their lives beyond school, we are so very proud of all that they have achieved. They have been a year group defined by their grace, their smiles, their energy, their exuberance, their resilience and their compassion. They have worked hard, supported each other and cared deeply about our School. They have grown into confident young adults ready to take on the world. Most precious has been the friendships shared, and I wish them all the very best for their futures wherever the road might take them. Exhale your past. Inhale your future. Believe in yourselves, stay focused on the road ahead, carry our motto of wisdom, grace and service in your hearts and give everything 100 per cent. Remember that ‘Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently’ – Keep pushing forward Class of 2025 and strive to live your life ‘not for self alone’. We cannot wait to see where life takes you next and as the newest members of our alumni, The Grammarians.

Friday 24 October saw the opening of the annual Art & Design Exhibition – WOW – what a festival of creativity and talent. Opening night was well attended and celebrated the array of mediums used within Art & Design this year. Huge thanks to Mrs Wohlnick and Mrs Wiese for all that they did to set up the exhibition and support our students in creating such wonderful work.

Solo Dance and Drama night

Last night we were blessed with the talent of the drama and dance students as they performed their solo pieces in the lead up to Year 11 Exams. The evening showcased just how far dance and drama has come over recent years and the talent of our students. They are most certainly enjoying the new spaces to heighten their performance techniques and talents. Thanks to Ms McGaw and Miss Watson who worked tirelessly to bring this night together.

World Teacher's Day

Today the Friends of St George’s thanked our staff with an extravagant morning tea, spread across both campuses as part of World Teachers’ Day. As Principal, I would like to give a huge shoutout to our incredibly talented and dedicated teachers and support staff. Your passion, enthusiasm and endless support do not go unnoticed. Thank you for going above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our young people every single day! We are a great team here at St George’s!

Exam wishes

With ATAR Examinations commencing this week we wish all our Year 12s the very best of luck. Your hard work, determination and resilience have brought you to this moment. Remember you’ve got this! Stay calm, stay focused and be kind to yourselves. You will always be so much more than any examination result or ATAR score that comes your way later in the year. Huge thanks to the rest of the school for adhering to the ‘SHHHH’ notices to ensure that our Year 12s have the necessary quiet exam conditions to assist them to showcase their talents – it is much appreciated.

With only five and a half weeks of the school year to go, we will soon be celebrating Christmas and the end of the 2025 school year – time flies when you are having fun!

Warmest wishes for a wonderful weekend.  Happy Halloween!
